Getting a slight bit faster.

2000 yards. I swam today and did the usual freestyle for all short course laps.  I had a guy next to me that I thought was slow, but he was going faster than me! At lap 32 of 40, I decided to stay at least with him. It looked at his pace that I would hold hi off until around lap 34.  But surprisingly, I kept my speed equal to his for the remaining laps.  I liked that feeling!  The day was beautiful and the pool temp was great, too.
