60 minutes more

5 mi.  I woke up at 3:49am, thought the alarm didn’t fire off, so I got right up, did pushups, situps, and drove to the track. Arriving in an empty lot, I really questioned what day it was. I looked at my watch and saw 4:21, a full hour earlier than the whole workout starts each week!  My options were to go back home, not happening, wait for the group, boring, or do my own workout. I did the warmup with a t shirt on – a 4 lap blur.  I did 6 x 800 with 200m recovery between each set.  During my final cool down lap of four, Paul showed up and questioned why I was there so early. I told him about my adventure to which he replied,”You’re getting old, I wake up for no reason, too!”
