Just 20mph

28 mi. Today’s ride I started early. The weather said hot and humid with a SSE wind of 4mph. I didn’t feel any breeze pushing me north, I wasn’t going that fast (Need to repair cheek lights to see speedometer) heading up, most glances at the gauge said 21mph. I had to slow and maneuver around some of the traffic at PGA and Donald Ross Rd lights. I arrived at the Inlet too early to witness a nice sunrise, there were many clouds at the eastern horizon that would have obscured the view anyway. I stopped for a water bottle refill, my avg speed was only 20.7. I didn’t feel that slow, but it wasn’t lying. The way back was in a slight breeze headwind, down A1A to US-1 to Northlake. I was stopped for a very long freight train at Alt A1-A. Arriving home, my avg speed had fallen to 20.0. It felt like my legs were getting a better workout than that, but not every day, every ride is a “write home to mom about” event I guess.  Protein shake and off to work…
