Rolling heavy in the big winds

5mi run/21 mi ride  They say the more adverse the conditions get, the better the workout. I believe! Hurricane Sandy is heading up the coast from Miami, it won’t directly hit us but it will bring wind and rain through Saturday afternoon. Today’s track workout was a smattering of shorter distances topping out at 800m before we finished with a mile for time. Riding was with Lanae, breezy from the NE so our trip to PGA National was wind aided, the ride back was a tuck up a hill basically. I call Florida’s sustained winds a “hill.”

1 mi warmup jog

200m w/200m recovery
400m w/200m recovery
600m w/200m recovery
400m w/200m recovery
600m w/200m recovery
800m w/200m recovery
200m w/200m recovery
1600m timed (I did 6:03 according to Erica timing me vs her finish)

1 mi cooldown jog

I felt ok running, not quick on the shorter distances, but I definitely could have run the mile faster! I had good energy in the final lap.
