4mi. Today was my first running in the Vibram five toed shoes. I bought them at a good discount. When I wear these things, they feel tight on one foot sometimes, but not this morning. One of my middle toes on the right foot seems weird, but I go with the plan of running track in these anyway. I notice that the soles “slap” on the ground, making a sound as if I was running in loose-fitting flip flops. Paul and Erica notice the new shoes and ask about them. Besides the good sale price, I don’t have much to offer because I’ve only worn them around the neighborhood but not yet for running. I did the intervals at a good speed, but started to lay off in the final 4 dashes when I felt my Achilles areas on both legs really tightening up. I certainly did not want to pull or injure those babies, so I slowed and just ran with what felt comfortable.

I correctly guessed Paul would switch away from the 400m repeats to the shorter 200m dashes simply because it would have our finish point away from the start point. It happens rarely, so I guessed ahead and hit the call of the final 200s.
