Run with them

20140109-062922.jpg4 mi. I heard the palm trees slapping against the house and wind blowing, almost like Tuesday morning I considered how I might skip the run and do it myself. Not today, there’s Krankit Kore after work with John. Get out of bed and head to the track.

This morning was warmed than the last week – 73 deg at the Benjamin Track. Not many people running today, Paul and maybe seven guys, three girls. Gary Walk is doing the Disney Marathon and running today, a few like Perry, John and Gary did the Sunshine State Race 1/2 marathon Saturday – our guys placed well at that one.

Paul set it such that we’d be mostly runnning longer intervals today. I shouldn’t let that comfort those of us that try to “guess” the intervals, we switched to shorter sprints at the end. This meant that not one person’s prediction was accurate – thanks Paul!

I ran mostly 4th or 5th in the lineup behind John, Seth, Hari, “new Steve” and sometimes Mike. I felt good at my pace, working to keep it the whole distance. I felt myself slow in the last 150m of some of the 600s, the two ahead of me usually finished 50m ahead. I was near 50m ahead of the closest followers. This is how you grow…
