A brick done early

30 mi ride/5 mi run Knowing it gets light earlier, I was awake and left the house around 6:30am. I didn’t need lights on the bike, the roads were clear of cars. I rode against an easterly wind up Northlake Blvd and then north on Military Trail, also kind of against the wind. I felt better than a week ago on the same ride, I guess once a week on wheels with a spin class mixed in helps.

I saw Mary D’Angelo and Leslie Weir at the Inlet park. They were riding together up the beach road as a change from running. A few quick words with them and I was back on the street, this time with the wind south and east. The beach road was empty, a few runners but seldom did I have to move over for a car. I saw both Suzannes, Rick and John Reback cutting through Carlin Park on the Sunday ride. My trip south had me at a good pace, through Juno Beach and onto empty US-1. I rode that in a crosswind down to Northlake Blvd and then with the wind all the way home.

I ran 5 miles with John through PGA National once home. more than I would have planned for, but it felt good to be done before the heat ramped up!
