Alternate between fast and faster
10 miles. Today was a workout from Erica’s coach. It called for us doing 10 miles switching each mile’s pace from 7:30 min to 7:00 min. I brought a gel to eat at the inlet, I think they help on the faster runs. John stayed with us for the first half, then came home himself.
My miles were good, I felt in control at both speeds. The fatser ones were a test of breath over legs – especially the last two. It got warmer quickly, so we were glad to get done faster than most people. Rick Mongeau likes to tease Erica with a fats paced final mile – our last one was 6:49.
