I arrived late and that meant I was the last person finishing the cooldown. And, the first 200m interval was rolling when I got to the track. I hopped on the back of that interval and ran the rest not as a leader, but 4th or 5th in the lineup of folks happy to run short intervals. As the longer runs were sprinkled in, people faded later in the workout.
Paul thought he was done at 4000m, but a few dissenting reminders from Atilla and I had him rethink the numbers and tag the last two 400m intervals on.
When questioned in the dark back corner of the track why we were doing so many 200s, Paul’s reply was, “If you want to be a Size 2, you’ve got to do 200s.”
