A big midweek run

15 miles. This is one demanding workout! Weather was 59 degrees, light rain, and a breezy from the Northwest. I ran in a long sleeve shirt, shorts, water bottle belt, and a clip-on light.

It called for 3 x 3 miles at goal marathon pace, with 2 mi warmup & 2 mi cooldown. One mile of recovery in between each of the 3 mile intervals.

I ran the first warmup with a hoodie on – and that became sweaty wet by the end of that two miles. John ran with Maureen, I ran my intervals solo. Running into the breeze made me cold, my shirt was damp from misty rain and sweat. My fingers were cold up until I turned east on Donald Ross Rd.

My intervals averaged 6:45 – a few slower ones on lap #2 as I noticed a soreness in my left rear leg. Not a pain, but a difference. Running the back half of this route is DARK! We purposely ran only in one direction so we would be as visible as possible to cars in the parking lots for Cycle Bar and Publix/Alton.
